Julia has been writing since her Philosophy and Literature degree at the University of Warwick and Masters in Creative Writing at St Andrews, Scotland. Her most recent non-fiction book, Muses: Revealing the Nature of Inspiration was published in 2007 and she is a contributor to Young Visionaries due to be published in 2009.

Julia’s initiation into working on environmental challenges began when she worked for the travel and environmental publisher, Alastair Sawday. On moving to London, she became the Schumacher Society London Representative and Press Officer in 2004, and was elected onto the Schumacher Society Council in 2008. During her time in London, she transitioned out of a career in publishing, and began her values-driven work as a freelance consultant, working with such organizations as the UK chapter of the Earth Charter, NESTA and Peace One Day Her research interests are currently around how best to parent in a planet post-peak everything. Julia now lives in South West England, and juggles writing with motherhood.
