Neva Welton is a seasoned community organizer, activist and author. Co-founder of Sustainable Communities ALL Over Puget Sound (SCALLOPS) and Sustainable Bainbridge, she has helped to incubate sustainability groups locally, regionally, and nationally. As director of communications for the People-Centered Development Forum’s Great Turning Initiative 2005-2007, Neva had the opportunity to consult with grassroots organizers across the country. Neva is co-author of Global Uprising, Confronting the Tyrannies of the 21st Century: Stories from a New Generation of Activist; (2001, New Society Publishers) and Speaking and Listening from the Heart: A Facilitators Handbook (2005, dsistas Press), and holds a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch Seattle.
